Sheila Jammeh

Sheila Jammeh

Sheila’s huge work experiences and skills has been of immense benefit to our organisation and the community at large. She worked at the Trustee Savings Bank as a teller and later moved to Post Office Telephones ( now known as British Telecommunication BT) where she remained for 25 years. During that time she worked in various departments eventually rising to Debt recovery and Insolvency manager. This was an interesting and challenging post where she gained a deeper insight of the various problems facing families and businesses.  Sheila later worked with Shell who were setting up a Shared service centre in Glasgow. This involved the transfer of work from Shell offices in various European countries. While working with Shell she went to Sweden to work shadow the process to bring it back to UK. This was challenging as the people being work shadowed would be losing their jobs. She progressed to the Finance department dealing with bank reconciliations and retired in 2018.

She found the transition to retirement hard to adjust to and have always been greatly involved her local Church as Sunday school leader, Board secretary and Church Elder but was looking for something more practical where she could use her talents and experience to help the community.The opportunity came in November 2018 when she heard about ANYiSO,  she became a volunteer to ‘assist’ with the sewing and knitting classes and now serves as one of the directors of the organisation.

In her own words ”Little did I know I would be leading them – a bit daunting as these are only my hobbies!” ”Since then I have shared my skills of these crafts and jewellery making with the women who attend. It is a great opportunity to build up a relationship and help them integrate. What a joy it is when you see their sense of achievement when they create something and to increase their self confidence. I receive so much more from them knowing I am making  difference (however small) in their lives”. ”Being married to a Gambian has helped me to better understand the various cultures and also the Muslim religion which in turn helps me to relate to the women and children”. ”Volunteering in Anyiso is so rewarding and God willing, I will continue to serve them in whatever ways I can to give them a voice”. ”I was born and bred here in Glasgow where I was part of a relatively large family(3brothers and 1 sister). I married in 2008 – my husband Alieu is from The Gambia and his family is a lot bigger than mine!”

Patrick Turyomunsi

Patrick has over 20 years work experience as an administrator, has worked in both the UK and Uganda in junior and senior role positions with various organizations. Patrick joined ANYiSO’s Board in 2016, in addition to this role; Patrick also provides his expertise in management, policy development, procurement and treasury aspects to the organization.

Patrick holds a Bachelor in Business and Management with honours from University of Sunderland, England. He also holds MSc. International Operations and Supply Chain Management from Glasgow Caledonian University School of Business and Society, Scotland as well as MSc. Policy Analysis and Global Governance from the University of the West of Scotland. In addition, Patrick holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Energy Management from University of Stirling Management School and, is an Associate Member of Association of Business Executives, UK and a yellow belt holder (Lean Management).

Emeka Obiegbu

Emeka currently works for the NHS as an operating department practitioner.  Emeka’s community perspective is evident in his commitment with our organisation and in health care delivery. 

Emeka’s has huge experience in working with different organisations to promote integration and provide support and services to better the lives of others. He has a degree in health and a Masters degree in Management from Glasgow Caledonian University. Emeka is an experienced community support worker, and also has proven and reliable records in management, customer relations, in administration and has experience collaborating with other health proffessionals.

Ononye Arthur Uchenne (OAU)

DIRECTOR

Arthur is a Management Consultant with many years of successful experience working with charity, private and public agency organisations across the continent of Africa and United Kingdom. Arthur is ardent in self-development, and was first trained as an industrialist in the area of Industrial Chemistry from Federal University of Technology Owerri, Nigeria and obtained his Master’s degree in Project Management and IT from the University of the West of Scotland. Arthur is currently a PhD student.  Arthur regularly run trainings on Skills and Business Development to assist inspiring entrepreneurs and employee performance. He has always deployed his expertise in Business Development, Leadership/Skills Training, IT & Project Management, etc. Presently, Arthur is working as a Social Science Research Consultant in collaboration with Universities and Public Agency organisations. He is a true believer, that portrays first the interest of Kingdom of God, with undiluted commitment to a local church assembly.  More information about Arthur’s research work will be found in his personal blog.

Jennifer started with ANYiSO since 2015 and now works as assistant project manager and youth worker. She has experience working with young people and children and coordinates their activities. Jennifer has  HNC in Business management and administration and presently studying law at the University of West of Scotland. She is passionate about helping others.

Anulika Eboh

Anulika Eboh

COMMUNITY WORKER

Anulika is passionate about helping families get the best out of life through inspiration, information and education. Her professional background is nursing. As a qualified registered Nurse, she practiced her profession for couple of years in Nigeria and with NHS.

Although no longer in full time nursing but remains a passionate promoter of health and offers a lot of support to families at ANYiSO. She very approvable and always willing to help. Anulika has  been with ANYISO from onset, first as service user, moved on to volunteering and now works  as a community worker. She is experienced in working with Africans and ethnic minorities and has volunteered and served in many organisations including her local church where she provides support services to everyone.

Her desire is to see women empowered and useful not only to themselves but to thier family and society at large.
